I’m Carolyn

Your brain won't let it go. You replay the conversation, check the lock one more time, or ask "are you sure you're not upset with me?" and feel relief for about thirty seconds before the doubt creeps back in. Maybe a disturbing thought popped into your head and now you're afraid of what it says about you. Maybe it's a question about your health, your relationship, or your faith that you've searched a hundred times. You know it doesn't fully make sense, and that's part of what makes it so exhausting. If this sounds familiar, you're not broken and you're not alone. This is often what anxiety and OCD look like from the inside.

I specialize in treating OCD and anxiety with Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the most well researched treatment for OCD. ERP isn't about talking through a fear until it finally makes sense. It's about gradually and intentionally facing what your brain insists you can't handle, while letting go of the checking, reassurance seeking, avoiding, and mental reviewing that keep the cycle going. We build your plan together, at a pace that feels challenging but doable, and I'm right there with you through it. I regularly work with contamination fears, harm or taboo intrusive thoughts, relationship doubts, religious scrupulosity, health anxiety, perfectionism, and "just right" feelings. The goal is simple: getting your time, your relationships, and your peace of mind back.

Anxiety rarely stays in one lane, so we'll also look at how it shows up in your relationships: the people pleasing, the fear of letting someone down, the second guessing after every interaction. Drawing on attachment work, I help you understand those patterns and start showing up more like yourself. My style is warm, down to earth, and honest, and I'll gently push you when it's time. I especially enjoy working with creatives and deep thinkers, and for Christian clients who want it, I integrate faith into our work, which can be especially meaningful when OCD targets your beliefs. If you're ready to stop living by anxiety's rules, reach out for a free 15 minute consultation.
